For those who don’t know Ed Rush and Optical are considered as 2 of the most innovative DJ’s and producers to ever grace the drum and bass scene. They have achieved a status that few others have through their hard work and the sheer quality of their output. Many of their productions have shaped the sound of drum and bass and withstood the tests of time to now be considered timeless classics well beyond the dance floor. As artists they have released 3 critically acclaimed, genre-defining albums a feat accomplished by very few dnb producers. As DJ’s there sets have had crowds eating from the palms of their hands with their technical brilliance and futuristic selections. And finally as label owners, Virus Recordings has firmly entrenched itself as one of the scenes premiere labels with the quality of tunes being second to none.

The New Zealand drum and bass crew welcomes back Ed Rush and Optical, touching down, down under together for the first time in 4 years and 9 years on from Ed Rush’s first visit here in 1996. Now in 2005 the deadly duo return, back to support the release of the Virus Vaults LP, a collection of lost gems gathering dust in the studio of Virus, due to be unleashed later this year.
